Free From Nerves Coaching Policy

Free From Nerves provides coaching designed to support personal development, communication, confidence and performance. Coaching can provide practical tools, reflection and support, but it is important to understand what coaching is, what it is not, and the respective responsibilities of Kevin and each client.

1. Coaching is not medical or mental health treatment

Kevin Chapman is acting as a coach, not as a doctor, psychologist, psychiatrist, psychotherapist or other healthcare professional.

Free From Nerves does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, treatment or therapy. Coaching should not be used as a substitute for professional medical or mental health care.

If you have concerns about your physical or mental health, you should seek advice from an appropriately qualified healthcare professional.

2. The science is for education, not diagnosis

Free From Nerves may explore topics relating to nerves, stress, breathing, attention, physical responses and human performance.

This information is provided for general educational and coaching purposes. It is not intended to diagnose a medical or psychological condition or provide individual medical advice.

Where an exercise does not feel appropriate for you, you should stop and seek appropriate professional advice where necessary.

3. Coaching is a collaborative process

Coaching is designed to help you explore your own experiences, recognise patterns, develop practical skills and experiment with different ways of responding when nerves get in the way.

Kevin may provide observations, questions, exercises and practical tools, but decisions and actions remain your responsibility.

Individual experiences and outcomes will vary, and no particular result can be guaranteed.

4. Knowing when coaching isn’t the right support

There may be circumstances where Kevin believes that coaching is not the most appropriate form of support.

Where something falls outside the scope of Free From Nerves, Kevin may recommend that you speak to a suitably qualified medical, mental health or other professional.

If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, feel at risk of harming yourself or someone else, or require urgent medical support, you should contact the appropriate emergency or healthcare service rather than relying on coaching support.

5. Confidentiality and professional boundaries

Personal information shared during coaching will be treated respectfully and confidentially, subject to applicable law and any safeguarding or legal obligations.

The coaching relationship will maintain clear professional boundaries. Further information about how personal data is collected, stored and used is available in the Free From Nerves Privacy Policy.

6. Assessments and Free From Nerves tools

Any Free From Nerves questionnaire, assessment, score, pattern or future archetype is intended as a coaching and self-reflection tool.

It does not constitute a clinical assessment, medical diagnosis or psychological diagnosis and should not be interpreted as one.

Its purpose is to help you explore how nerves may show up for you and identify useful areas for further reflection, practice or coaching.

7. Your wellbeing comes first

You are responsible for deciding whether to participate in any coaching exercise or activity and should always take account of your own health, circumstances and wellbeing.

If you are unsure whether a particular activity is suitable for you, particularly where you have an existing health condition or are receiving medical or psychological treatment, speak to an appropriately qualified healthcare professional first.

8. Coaching alongside other professional support

Free From Nerves coaching can be used alongside other forms of professional support, including medical care, therapy or counselling where appropriate.

If you are currently receiving treatment or professional support, coaching does not replace the advice or recommendations of those practitioners. You are encouraged to let Kevin know about anything that may be relevant to your participation in coaching, while only sharing information you feel comfortable providing.
